Hazie
Hazie Goines was the firstborn, only son, strikingly handsome and a sharp dresser. He adored his family and his horses. He was a farmer, played a large part in building the Kentucky Derby and several railroads. He had a raspy hoarse voice and with 20 children, had the largest brood of any of his sisters. Affectionally was known by many nicknames, "Boy" is what many called him and the celebration of his May birthday is how the Goines Family reunion began. He outlived his parents and his sisters and was a true Patriarch for the entire Goines Family. His surviving children are Minnie, Juanita aka Sister, H.G. aka Deet, twins Hazie aka Mane, and Addie aka Lil Bit.
Verlillian
Verlillian Goines Griffin was the shortest of all her siblings and stout. She was affectionately known as Vernita. She was a great cook and known for her cakes. She loved to fish and raised two of her grandchildren, (Anna and John). She bore two daughters, and only one lived to adulthood. Drusilla Williams Murphy aka Sil. Sil bore three children, Anna, John (now deceased) and Alonzo. Verlillian has a great-granddaughter that bears her name and she is the fourth daughter of Anna.
Earline
Earline Goines Miles was tall and had long flowing hair. She was married three times and was a mother to ten children. She was known for her cooking skills and sold meals to those who share-cropped for a living. She enjoyed fishing, sitting with her siblings discussing the news of the day, and being around her grandchildren. She was passionate about feeding the hungry, and was known for sharing food from the garden, meat from her farm, and would often deliver cooked meals to those in need. Earline has a granddaughter that bears her name and is the daughter of Ernestine.
Mardee
Mardee Goines Reid was a devoted wife and mother to seven children. She made most of her clothes and that of her children. Her faith in God and her family were primary in her life. She was the last girl of her sisters to make her transition and would support all of her nieces and nephews as they were her very own. Her surviving children are Della We, EBell and Elvin. EBell Reid is the Patriarch of the Goines Family, and his eldest daughter bears his Mom's name.
Ada
Ada Goines Johnson was affectionately known as "Ainty". She bore two children, a son, and a daughter, and only her son lived to adulthood. She loved to fish, sing, and write songs. She sang in the choir at Mount Zion Cobbville Baptist Church. Her nieces and nephews say she was soft-spoken and spoiled each of them significantly. L.C. Johnson, aka Mano, her only son's name was changed by the army when he enlisted to Louis Calvin. He was a father to three, Monica (now deceased), Reginald, and Mercia.
